MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAMS EARN AT-LARGE BIDS TO THE NCAA TOURNAMENT PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The Pace University men's and women's basketball teams have received at-large bids to the 2007 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments. This marks the third time in school history that both the men's and women's basketball teams have made the NCAA Tournament in the same season in school history. The first time that both teams made the tournament was during the 1991-92 season and then did it again in 2001-02. The women's team (23-8) received the third seed in the Northeast Region and will square off against Northeast-10 Conference foe, sixth seeded, American International College (21-7). The Pace men (20-12) received the seventh seed in the Northeast Region and will face NE-10 Conference rival, second seeded, The College of Saint Rose (21-9). The First Round of the 2007 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament begins on Friday, March 9th in New Haven, CT. The number one seeded Southern Connecticut State University will host the Northeast Region. Pace and American International will tip-off at 3:00 p.m. Pace will be making their third straight appearance in the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament and 13th overall appearance. The First Round of the 2007 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball
Tournament kicks off on Saturday. March 10th in Waltham, MA.
Bentley College will host the Northeast Region as the number one
seed. Pace and St. Rose will tip-off at 2:30 p.m. Pace
will be making their fourth appearance in the NCAA Divsion II Men's
Basketball Tournament, with their last appearance coming during the
2001-02 season.
