FOUR SETTERS TAKEN IN 2006 MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL DRAFT
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Junior lefthanded pitcher David Qualben (Brooklyn, NY/Xavier) and righthanded pitcher Bryan Hallberg (River Edge, NJ/Riverdell) were selected on the first day, Tuesday, June 6, 2006, in the Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft by the Houston Astros, who used their 7th round pick, the 219th overall, to take Qualben and their 12th round pick, the 369th overall, to take Hallberg. Senior Matt Reilly (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls) and junior Earl Oakes (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) were selected on the 2nd day of the two-day Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft. Reilly was chosen in the 27th round, with the 822nd overall pick, by the Anaheim Angels while Oakes was drafted in the 24th round, with the 728th overall pick, by the Oakland Athletics. The four players drafted match the all-time high set by the 1986 and 1989 Pace University teams.

FIVE PACE BASEBALL PLAYERS EARN NE-10 HONORS
PLEASANTVILLE, NY Sophomores Matt Arburr (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) and Jack Cawley (Bronx, NY/Iona Prep) head the list of Pace University baseball players named to Northeast-10 Conference postseason teams. Cawley and Arburr were NE-10 1st Team selections while juniors David Qualben (Brooklyn, NY/Xavier) and Earl Oakes (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) were named to the NE-10 2nd Team. Junior Bryan Hallberg (River Edge, NJ/Riverdell) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic 1st Team. The Pace Baseball team completed their final season as probationary members of NCAA Division II with a record of 34-17 overall while also posting a 19-11 NE-10 Conference record. Pace will be eligible next season to participate in postseason play after waiting the mandatory two years after dropping down from NCAA Division I Independent status.

HOLLRAH SCORES WINNING RUN IN 12TH INNING, SETTERS BEAT OWLS, 3-2
PLEASANTVILLE, NY Senior Brian Hollrah (Glenwood, MD/Glenely), playing in his final game for Pace, scored the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning, as Pace defeated Southern Connecticut, 3-2. Pace will close out the season at 34-17 overall and 19-11 in the Northeast-10 Conference while Southern Connecticut drops to 31-16 overall and 20-10 in conference play. Paces 34 wins are a new school record.

QUALBEN KS 14 AS SETTERS BEAT AIC, 10-0
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- David Qualben (Brooklyn, NY/Xavier) stymied the Yellow Jackets of American International College, holding AIC to two hits over eight innings while striking out 14. On the day, Qualben allowed just four base runners, with only one advancing to second, as he improved to 7-3 on the season.

SETTERS BREAK ALL-TIME WINS RECORD IN SWEEP OF AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL
SPRINGFIELD, MA- The Pace University baseball team broke the Pace single season win record, picking up wins 31 and 32 of the season in a sweep of American International. Pace improves to 32-17 overall and 17-11 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The previous mark of 30 wins came in 1985 under former head coach Fred Calaicone.

BASEBALL REACHES 30 WINS FOR 2ND TIME IN SCHOOL HISTORY
SMITHFIELD, RI- The Pace University baseball team scored two runs in the top of the 9th inning to come from behind and defeat Bryant University, 4-3. The Setters improve to 30-17 overall and 15-11 in the NE-10 Conference. The Setters reached the 30 win plateau for only the second time in the 57 year existence of Pace baseball.

Pace improves to 29-16 overall and 14-10 in the Northeast-10 Conference while UMass Lowell drops to 31-11 overall and 18-9 in conference play.

ALBANY, NY The Pace Univeristy baseball team defeated the College of Saint Rose, 9-0, in a Northeast-10 Conference baseball game played at Bruno Stadium in Albany, NY. With the win, Pace improves to 25-14 overall and 10-8 in the Northeast-10 Conference while St. Rose drops to 8-30 overall and 4-17 in conference play. The 2006 Setters become the 5th team in Pace baseball history to record 25 wins in a season while Henry Manning becomes the first Pace baseball coach to win 25 games in back-to-back seasons.

Pace improves to 23-14 overall and 9-8 in the NE-10 while Merrimack drops to 11-19 overall and 7-12 in conference play.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace University baseball team split a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader with vistiting Franklin Pierce College, with the Ravens winning the first game, 4-0, before Pace held off a late FPC surge to win the second game, 4-2. Pace goes to 22-14 overall and 8-8 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The win in the second game breaks a five game slide for the Setters. Franklin Pierce stands at 29-9 overall and 14-5 in conference play.

BASEBALL LOSES 3RD STRAIGHT TO STONEHILL
EASTON, Mass.-- Senior All-America Billy Sittig (West Roxbury, Mass.) tossed a complete-game three-hitter and struck out nine to pick up his fifth win in seven decisions on the season as Stonehill ran its winning streak to eight straight in posting a 6-2 Northeast-10 Conference baseball victory over Pace and completing a sweep of a three-game set Monday afternoon at Gorman Field.

The Setter took the first game, 3-2, and the second game, 13-7. Pace improves to 17-6 overall and 4-1 in the Northeast-10. Southern New Hampshire goes to 13-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

Sophomore Ryan Thompson (Westford, MA) went 3-for-4 with a RBI and senior Joe Johnson (Pelham, NH) scattered six hits over seven innings to lead Southern New Hampshire University to a 3-2 victory over Pace University here today in Northeast-10 Conference baseball action. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was called in the top of the first inning due to rain. The teams will conclude the weekend series with a doubleheader at Pace tomorrow (4/2) starting at 11 a.m.
