SETTERS RALLY TO DEFEAT SAINT ROSE, 7-3
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Pace defeated the Golden Knights of Saint Rose, 7-3, in a Northeast-10 Conference game. The Setters improve to 26-15 overall and 11-9 in NE-10 play, while the Golden Knights drop to 8-31 overall and 4-18 in conference play.
With the Setters trailing 3-0 in the third, Adam Harwood (Los Angeles, CA/Brentwood) and JC Pullum (White Plains, NY/Valhalla) led off with back-to-back singles and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt. Harwood would score the Setters first run on a groundout by Jack Cawley (Bronx, NY/Iona Prep). In the fourth, Mike Pahira (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) ripped a one-out double to center field. Pahira advanced to third on a fly out and scored on a wild pitch. Pace knotted the score at three as Pullum drew a one-out walk, and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Andre Liscinsky (Trunbull, CT/Trumbull) followed with a game-tying single to score Pullum.
In the seventh, the Setters took the lead as Harwood drew a lead-off walk, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and reached third on a wild pitch. Liscinsky walked and Cawley ripped a RBI double down the left field line to put runners at second and third. After an intentional walk to Matt Arburr (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern), Matt Castellano (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph) singled to drive in Liscinsky and Cawley. The Setters tacked on an insurance run in the eighth to seal the game.
On the mound, Angelo Fusaro (Stamford, CT/Westhill) tossed a scoreless seventh inning to earn his second win of the season. Fusaro allowed one hit and struck out two. Earl Oakes (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) closed out the final two innings to pick up his 12th save of the season. Oakes pitched two hitless innings, while recording three strikeouts.

take on Northeast-10 Conference opponent, University of
Massachusetts at Lowell on Saturday, April 29, at 12:00 pm.
