PLEASANTVILLE, NY Nine Pace University baseball players are suiting up this summer for seven different teams in three summer collegiate baseball leagues. Jack Cawley (Bronx, NY/Iona Prep) and Dustin Corbett (Vestal, NY/Vestal) are playing for the Holyoke Giants of the New England Collegiate Baseball League and Ted Mullen (Madison, CT/Choate Rosemary Hall) and Nick DeMeo (Farmingville, NY/Sachem East) are playing in the Coastal Plain League for the Edenton Steamers and the New Bern River Rats, respectively; while Chris Brown (West Kingston, RI/South Kingstown) (Bennington Bombers), Aaron Zrenda (Niantic, CT/East Lyme/Loomis Chaffee Prep) (Bennington Bombers), Andre Liscinsky (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) (Elmira Pioneers), MacKenzie King (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren Regional) (Allegany County Nitros), and Joe Barracato (Westbury, NY/Clarke) (Bolivar As) are all be playing in the New York Collegiate Baseball League.

MATT ARBURR JOINS THE JOHNSON CITY CARDINALS
PLEASANTVILLE, NY Former Pace University baseball player Matt Arburr (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) will begin his professional baseball career in Johnson City, Tennessee as a member of the Johnson City Cardinals (Rookie League) of the Appalachian League. Arburr was taken in the 17th round (532nd overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft earlier this month on Friday, June 8th by the Saint Louis Cardinals and later signed on the 12th.

PACE KNOCKED OUT OF NE-10 PLAYOFFS
LOWELL, MA- The Pace baseball was eliminated from the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament Saturday night as the Setters lost their second game of the weekend to Franklin Pierce, 5-1. The Setters drop to 30-26 overall on the season and will await a possible at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Setters improve to 29-24 on the season, while the Falcons fall to 21-29 overall. With the win, Pace advances to the double elimination round of the NE-10 Conference Tournament and will face off against the #1 seeded and NE-10 regular season champion Franklin Pierce College on Friday May 11th at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, MA. PLEASANTVILLE, NY In their regular season finale, the Pace University baseball team split a Northeast-10 Conference baseball doubleheader with the Golden Knights of The College of Saint Rose this afternoon at Finnerty Field on the Pleasantville Campus of Pace University. The Setters were shutout in the opener 3-0, but came back in game two 6-3. The Setters end their regular season with an overall record of 28-24 (18-12 in the NE-10), while the Golden Knights end their season with a 16-29 record (13-17 in the NE-10).

In the opener, the Setters mustered five hits, while committing four errors, while hammering out 10 hits and seven runs in Game 2 to pick up the split.

MATT ARBURR NAMED NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SOUTH EASTON, MA Pace Universitys Matt Arburr (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending February 25th. In a three-game weekend sweep over Saint Thomas Aquinas College in Petersburg, VA, Arburr batted .600 (6-for-10), hitting two homeruns and one double, while driving in six RBIs and scoring five runs. He also added two stolen bases.
