BASEBALL COMPLETES THREE-GAME SWEEP OF MERRIMACK

NORTH ANDOVER, MA- The Pace baseball team completed its three-game sweep of Merrimack with a 5-1 win. The Setters improve to 26-20 overall and 15-8 in the NE-10.

Merrimack got on the board early, pushing across a run in the first inning. The Setters rallied in the fourth inning Mat Rigoli singled with one out and Adam Harwood singled with two outs. Andre Liscinsky doubled down the left field line to tie the score. Pace took the lead in the fifth as Jack Cawley led off with a single and moved to second on a sac bunt. Ted Mullen ripped a single down the right field line to put the Setters up 2-1. The Setters tacked on three insurance runs in the eighth as Chris Spatkowski had the key hit with a two-run double, while Cawley also had an RBI single for Pace.

Zach Dayton had a terrific start, tossing 7 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and one unearned run, while striking out six. MacKenzie King came on for the final 1 2/3 innings, tossing a shutout and fanned three to earn the save.
