SETTERS USE NINTH INNING RALLY TO DEFEAT FELICIAN 9-3

LODI, N.J. - The Setters scored seven runs in the top of the ninth inning to earn a 9-3 non-conference baseball victory over host Felician College on Thursday afternoon at Kennedy Park. The game was the home opener for Felician and the first game in program history played at Kennedy.

Felician (3-4) took a 3-1 lead after scoring three times in the bottom of the third inning. Pace's Jack Cawley (Bronx, NY/Iona Prep) hit a solo homerun in the fifth, and the 3-2 score held into the ninth inning. Pace loaded the bases with no one out on two walks and an error. The tying run scored on Golden Falcon throwing error, and Andre Liscinsky (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) followed with a go-ahead RBI single. Felician used three pitchers in the inning, and only two of the seven runs were earned. The Setters' Vinny Dammann (Mullica Hill, NJ/Glocester Catholic) capped the rally with a pinch-hit three-run double.

Cawley and Joe Barracato (Westbury, NY/W.T. Clarke) had two hits apiece for Pace (4-1) and Frank Luongo (West Harrison, NY/Harrison) (2-0) picked up the win with two innings of hitless relief. Felician starter Nick Riker (Highlands, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) yielded two earned runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings in the no-decision. Marcos Torres (Miami, FL/South Miami) had a RBI double.
