BASEBALL COMPLETES THREE-GAME SWEEP OF SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
CORBETT FANS FOUR AS SETTERS CRUISE TO 10-4 VICTORY

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The Pace baseball completed the three-game weekend sweep over Southern New Hampshire, taking home the victory on the final day 10-4. The Setters improve to 15-8 overall and remain a perfect 5-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the Penmen drop to 2-14 and 0-8 in conference play.

The Setters took an early lead as Matt Rigoli (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) and Neil Ross (Cortland Manor, NY/Panas) drew back-to-back walks to start the second inning. Both runners moved up a base on a wild pitch and scored on a double by Aaron Zrenda (Niantic, CT/Loomis Chaffee Prep). Pace would tack on two more runs in the inning to lead 4-0. Ross gave the Setters a 5-0 lead the next inning with an RBI single and Pace cruised the rest of the way behind another solid out by starter Dustin Corbett (Vestal, NY/Vestal).

Corbett (3-0) tossed six innings, allowing two runs (one earned) and one hit, while striking out four, keeping his record perfect for the season. Tommy Parry (Wayne, PA/Conestoga) and Michael Franza (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) each recorded two strikeouts in their lone inning of work, while Mike Sciarretta (Stamford, CT/Stamford) allowed two runs on five hits in the final inning.

JJ Conrad Hamburg, NJ/Wallkill Valley) paced the Setter offense with three hits on the day, driving in one run and scoring twice, while Chris Spatkowski (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and on RBI. Jack Cawley (Bronx, NY/Iona Prep) went 2-for-5 with one run scored and one RBI.

The Setters return to action when they host the Hawks of Saint Anselm College in a Northeast-10 Conference game on Tuesday, April 1 at Finnerty Field with first pitched scheduled for 3:30 pm.
