 BASEBALL FALLS TO ADELPHI 4-1

GARDEN CITY, NY - The Pace baseball dropped a non-conference game to the Panthers of Adelphi University 4-1. The Setters falls to 15-9 on the season, while the Panther improve to 11-13 overall.

The Setter offense was limited to three hits on the day as Joe Cotone's (Yorktown Heights, NY/Lakeland) RBI groundout in the second inning provided the lone run of the afternoon. Aaron Zrenda (Niantic, CT/Loomis Chaffee Prep) singled in the inning and scored on Cotone's groundout.  Neil Ross (Cortland Manor, NY/Panas) and Chris Spatkowski (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) each singled in the seventh as the Setters threatened but could not push any runs across.

On the mound, Salvatore DePaola (East Meadow, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) tossed five innings, allowing four runs on two hits and struck out one. Dane Doucette (Middletown, NY/Middletown) pitched the three scoreless and hitless innings, striking out two.

The Setters return to action when they host the Hawks of Saint Anselm College in a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader on Thursday, April 3 at Finnerty Field with first pitched scheduled for 1:00 pm.
