ANNOUNCES BASEBALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Chris Brown and Vinny Dammann Earn NE-10 All-Academic
Honors
SOUTH EASTON, MA - The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2008 Baseball All-Academic Team. To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.
Pace University senior Chris Brown (West Kingston, RI/South Kingston) and sophomore Vinny Dammann (Mullica Hill, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) have both been named to the 2008 NE-10 Baseball All-Academic Team. Brown has posted a 3.61 cumulative GPA as a Criminal Justice major, while Dammann has posted a 3.52 cumulative GPA as a Finance major.
Brown has played in 28 games this season for the Setters,
starting in 27. He is batting .252 (26-for-103) on the year, with
17 runs scored, 15 RBI, nine doubles and a homerun. Dammann has
also played in 28 games, while making 22 starts. He is batting .333
(26-for-78) on the year, with 17 runs scored, 20 RBI, five doubles
and a pair of homeruns.
