PACE SETTERS IN THE PROS - JUNE UPDATE
PLEASANTVILLE, NY - Ten former Pace University baseball players are currently following their dreams of playing professional baseball. Patrick Stanley (Ramsey, NJ/Ramsey), Bryan Hallberg (River Edge, NJ/River Dell), Matt Arburr (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern), Jack Cawley (Bronx, NY/Iona Prep) and Matt Rigoli (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) are all playing with minor league affiliated teams; while David Qualben (Brooklyn, NY/Xavier), Earl Oakes (Bristol, CT/Bristol Central), Matt Reilly (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls), Andre Liscinsky (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) and Giuseppe Granitto (Bronx, NY/Salesian HS/Concordia College) are in independent leagues.

LISCINSKY AND COTONE NAMED TO NE-10 ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS
PLEASANTVILLE, NY The Pace University baseball team had two players receive NE-10 Baseball All-Conference honors for the 2009 season. Senior shortstop Andre Liscinsky (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) led the way for the Setters being named to the First Team NE-10 All-Conference, and senior outfielder Joe Cotone (Yorktown Heights, NY/Lakeland) was named to the Third Team NE-10 All-Conference.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY The Pace University baseball team split their final two homes games of the 2009 season on senior day against the Warriors of Merrimack College. The Setters took the first game 10-5, but fell in the nightcap 8-6 on Saturday afternoon at Finnerty Field. The Setters finish the season with a 14-11-1 record at home at Finnerty Field.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY Senior hurler Zach Dayton (North Falmouth, MA/North Falmouth) tossed six strong innings in the opener on his way to first win of the young season as the Setters split a doubleheader against the Spartans of Saint Thomas Aquinas. Dayton struck out three as Pace took the first game 8-4, but the Spartans pushed a run across in the final inning to take the nightcap 3-2. BASEBALL PICKED TO FINISH FOURTH IN THE NE-10 PRESEASON COACHES' POLL
PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The Pace University baseball team has been picked to finish fourth, receiving 134 points, in the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Baseball Preseason Coaches' Poll as voted on by the conference's 13 coaches. Franklin Pierce University, the reigning NE-10 tournament champions, were the unanimous number one pick receiving all 13 first place votes for 169 total points. Southern Connecticut was picked to finish second with 148 points, while UMass Lowell was predicted to finish in third place with 136 points.
