PACE SIXTH OVERALL FINISH AT WILLIAM PATERSON
READINGTON, NJ- The Pace University equestrian team finished sixth overall at the William Paterson Invitational at Briarwood Farm. The Setters finished the competition with 21 points.
Victoria Keck (Wappingers Falls, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) took home first place in the Walk/Trot event.
Caroline O'Connell (Saint James, NY/Smithtown West) and, Jackie Smith (Douglaston, NY/Cardozo) both placed fifth in the Open Flats competition, while Hillary Quinn (Goshen, NY/Goshen) took home fourth.
Jan Kutscher (Stockton, NJ/Solebury) and Rebeccas Page (Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) won their respective classes and qualified for Regionals in Intermediate Fences. In her first show ever, Rene Merante (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) placed sixth in Intermediate fences.
Mary Beth Dixon (North Little Rock, AR/North Little Rock) placed fifth, and Hatsue Tashiro (Port Jervis, NY/Port Jervis) finished second in the Novice Fences event.
Sophomore Toni-Ann Lena (Mahopac, NY/Sacred Heart) placed second in the Advanced Walk Trot Canter event, while fellow sophomore Julia Bowler (South Salem, NY/John Jay-Cross River) finished third.
In the Beginner Walk Trot Canter competition, Brittany Ravellete (Islip Terrace, NY/Academy of St. Joseph) placed second, while Kathleen Marcason (Northvale, NJ/Chestnut Hill College) finished fifth.
Pace equestrian will return to action on Saturday, October 31 at Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ for the United State Military Academy Event.
