SETTERS FINISH SEVENTH OVERALL AT USMA INVITATIONAL

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ- The Pace University equestrian team finished seventh overall at the United States Military Academy Invitational held at Centenary College. Pace finished the competition with 18 points. The event was won by Centenary College finishing with 41 points.

Jackie Smith (Douglaston, NY/Cardozo) placed first in the open fences competition, while seniors Caroline O'Connell (Saint James, NY/Smithtown West) and Jan Kutscher (Stockton, NJ/Solebury) both came in fourth for the event. For Kutscher, it was the first show she competed in the Open Fences event.

In the Intermediate Fences, Rene Merante (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) took home first place, while Kelly Herron (Burlington, CT/Lewis S. Mills) placed sixth.

Hillary Quinn (Goshen, NY/Goshen) had a fourth place performance in the Open Flats. O'Connell took home fifth in that Open Flats event.

In fifth place in the Intermediate Flats for Pace was Mary Beth Dixon (North Little Rock, AR/North Little Rock).

For the second show in a row, Julia Bowler (South Salem, NY/John Jay-Cross River) finished in third for the Advanced Walk Trot Canter event.

In the Beginner Walk Trot Canter competition, Brittany Ravellete (Islip Terrace, NY/Academy of St. Joseph) placed fourth.

Victoria Keck (Wappingers Falls, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) took home third place in the Walk/Trot event. Keck's performance was good enough to qualify her for Regionals. She is the fourth Pace rider to qualify so far this season.

Pace equestrian will return to action on Sunday, November 15 at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY for the Marist Invitational.
