SETTERS FINISH SEVENTH OVERALL AT STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ- The Pace University equestrian team finished seventh overall at the Stevens Institute of Technology Invitational held at Centenary College.
Caroline O'Connell (Saint James, NY/Smithtown West) and Rebecca Page (Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) came in a tie for fourth the Open Fences event, while Jan Kutscher (Stockton, NJ/Solebury) finished fifth in the same event. Kutscher also saw a fourth place finish in the Open Flat competition.
In the Intermediate Fences, Kelly Herron (Burlington, CT/Lewis S. Mills) finished the event in second place. Herron also finished sixth in the Intermediate Flats.
Hatsue Tashiro (Port Jervis, NY/Port Jervis) placed fourth in the novice fences, and placing just behind Tashiro was Mary Beth Dixon (North Little Rock, AR/North Little Rock) who finished in fifth. Dixon also placed fifth in the Intermediate Flats.
In the Novice Flats, freshman Rene Merante (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) took home third, while fellow freshman Emily Swisher (Town and Country, MO/Parkway West) placed sixth in the same event.
Toni Ann Lena (Mahopac, NY/Sacred Heart) placed in third, while teammate Julia Bowler (South Salem, NY/John Jay-Cross River) finished in fifth for the Advanced Walk Trot Canter event.
In the Beginner Walk Trot Canter competition, Brittany Ravellete (Islip Terrace, NY/Academy of St. Joseph) finished in second, while Kathleen Marcason (Northvale, NJ/Chestnut Hill College) finished in third.
Justina Edwards (Carmel, NY/Port Chester) finished in sixth in the Walk-Trot event to round out the meet for the Setters.
