PACE FINISHES EIGHTH OVERALL AT NEW PALTZ INVITATIONAL
READINGTON, NJ- The Pace University equestrian team finished eighth overall at the SUNY New Paltz Invitational held at Briarwood Farm.
Caroline O'Connell (Saint James, NY/Smithtown West) came in fourth in the Open Fences event.
In the Intermediate Fences, Kelly Herron (Burlington, CT/Lewis S. Mills) and Rene Merante (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) finished in a fourth place tie in the event. Merante also placed third in the Novice Flats competition.
Mary Beth Dixon (North Little Rock, AR/North Little Rock) came in sixth during the Intermediate Flats event.
Freshman Hatsue Tashiro (Port Jervis, NY/Port Jervis) placed third in the Novice flats.
Toni Ann Lena (Mahopac, NY/Sacred Heart) placed in second, while teammate Julia Bowler (South Salem, NY/John Jay-Cross River) finished in sixth for the Advanced Walk Trot Canter event.
In the Beginner Walk Trot Canter competition, Brittany Ravellete (Islip Terrace, NY/Academy of St. Joseph) finished in second, while Kathleen Marcason (Northvale, NJ/Chestnut Hill College) finished in fifth.
Justina Edwards (Carmel, NY/Port Chester) finished in fourth in the Walk-Trot event to round out the meet for the Setters.
