Joe Streany knew the call was coming. He just didn't know when. It was the former Croton-Harmon standout's chance to play football at the next level, the opportunity he had dreamed about since childhood.The Triangle Razorbacks needed a linebacker, and an assistant coach at Pace University recommended Streany.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The Pace University football team will hold its spring game Saturday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pace Field on the Pleasantville campus. Admission is free and the game is open to the public.

NFF ANNOUNCES 2008 HAMPSHIRE HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP
PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) has announced the members of the 2008 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a 3.2 GPA or better. Seniors Nick Liguori (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South), Richard Pinck (Hamburg, NJ/Vernon), and Joseph Streany (Croton, NY/Croton-Harmon) were all named to the 2008 NFF Hampshire Honor Society.

ROBINSON & STREANY NAMED TO THE 2007 DON HANSEN’S FOOTBALL GAZETTE ALL NORTHEAST REGION TEAM
CLARION, PA – Pace University seniors defensive end Lee Robinson (New Milford, CT/New Milford) and linebacker Joseph Streany (Croton, NY/Croton-Harmon) were both named to the 2007 Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All-Northeast Region Team. Robinson was named to the First Team Defense, while Streany was named to the Second Team Defense.

STREANY NAMED TO 2007 DAKTRONICS DIVISION II FOOTBALL ALL-NORTHEAST REGION SECOND TEAM DEFENSE
PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The postseason honors keep rolling in for senior linebacker Joseph Streany (Croton, NY/Croton-Harmon) as he has been named to the 2007 Daktronics Division II Football All-Northeast Region Second Team Defense. Along with being named to the Daktronics All-Northeast Region Second Team, Streany was named to the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference First Team Defense, the 2007 CoSIDA College Division First Team Academic All-District Football Team and the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Football All-Academic Team as the Professional Studies major has compiled a cumulative 3.62 GPA.

FIVE SETTERS LAND ON NORTHEAST-10 FOOTBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS
SOUTH EASTON, MA – Five Pace University football players were named to the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Football All-Conference Teams. Seniors linebacker Joseph Streany (Croton, NY/Croton-Harmon) and defensive end Lee Robinson (New Milford, CT/New Milford) were both named to the First Team - Defense, while senior linebacker Ernst Turnier (Stratford, CT/Bunnell), junior defensive back Jon Jones (Dover, NH/Bridgton Academy) and senior punter Matt Cooney (East Rockaway, NY/East Rockaway) were all named to the Second Team - Defense.

STREANY BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD FOR TACKLES IN PACE SEASON FINALE
PLEASANTVILLE, NY – Joe Streany (Croton, NY/Croton) recorded 12 tackles on the afternoon, giving the senior linebacker 148 for the season, passing the previous single-season mark of 142 set by Brian Pirone in 1994. Pirone was on hand in Pleasantville this afternoon, serving on honorary captain and witnessing the rewriting of the Setter record book. The Setters end their season at 1-10, 1-8 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the Greyhounds wrap up 2007 with a 4-7 record and 3-6 in conference play.

He was also named to the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Football All-Academic Team earlier this season.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The Gaels of Iona College won the Battle of Westchester County, defeating the Setters of Pace University 34-3 in a non-conference football game this afternoon. The Setters drop to 1-9 overall, while the Gaels improve to 7-2.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Warriors of Merrimack defeated the Setters of Pace in Northeast-10 Conference football action this afternoon at Warrior Field in North Andover, MA. The Setters drop to 1-8 overall and 1-7 in the NE-10, while Merrimack improves to 4-4 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

TWO SCHOOL RECORDS ECLIPSED AS FOOTBALL FALLS TO AMERICAN INT’L 7-0
PLEASANTVILLE, NY – Joe Streany (Croton, NY/Croton) recovered his fifth fumble of the season, breaking the single-season school record of four previously set three different times. Punter Matt Cooney (East Rockaway, NY/East Rockaway) booted a 71-yard punt in the fourth quarter eclipsing the previous record of 70 set by Bill Mentekidis on November 4, 1995. The Setters drop to 1-7 overall and 1-6 in the Northeast-10, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 4-3 and 4-2 in conference play.

NEW HAVEN, CT – Southern Connecticut blanked the Setters of Pace in Northeast-10 Conference football action tonight at Jess Dow Field in New Haven, CT. The Setters drop to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in the NE-10, while Southern Connecticut improves to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

FOOTBALL FALLS TO BENTLEY ON UNIVERSITY FEST 25-6
PLEASANTVILLE, NY – Junior linebacker Brian Schuster (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) totaled 13 tackles and had an interception, earning homecoming MVP honors as the Setters fell to Falcons of Bentley College 25-6 in a Northeast-10 Conference game played at Pace Field in Pleasantville. The Setters drop to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in the NE-10, while the Falcons improve to 4-1 overall and in conference play.

SMITHFIELD, RI – The Setters fell short in their upset attempt over Bryant as the game turned on a key 67-yard punt return late in the game giving Bryant good field position deep in Pace territory, setting up the go-ahead score for Bryant. The Pace football team falls to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the NE-10, while Bryant improves to 4-0 overall and in conference play.

FOOTBALL SNAPS NINE-GAME LOSING STREAK IN WIN OVER SAINT ANSELM
PLEASANTVILLE, NY - Sophomore Justin Polanis (Port Jervis, NY/Port Jervis) rushed for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Pace football team snapped its nine-game losing streak, defeating the Hawks of Saint Anselm 20-9 at Pace Field this afternoon. The Setters improve their record to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the Hawks remain winless at 0-3 and 0-2 in the NE-10.

EASTON, MA – The Pace football team fell to Stonehill, 23-0, in a Northeast-10 Conference game played under the lights at Stonehill College. The Setters drop to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play, while the Skyhawks improve to 2-0 overall and in the NE-10.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The Pace University football team dropped its 2007 home and conference opener to the Pioneers of Long Island University – C.W. Post in Northeast-10 Conference football action this afternoon at Pace Field on the Pleasantville campus of Pace University. The Setters fall to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in the NE-10, while the Pioneers improve to an even 1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

JOSEPH STREANY NAMED NE-10 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SOUTH EASTON, MA – Pace University senior linebacker Joseph Streany (Croton, NY/Croton-Harmon) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 2nd. Junior defensive back Jonathan Jones (Dover, NH/Bridgton Academy) was also honored for the week being named to the weekly honor roll.

FOOTBALL FALLS IN SEASON OPENER TO HUSSON, 25-13
BANGOR, ME –Jon Jones (Dover, NH/Bridgton Academy) set a school record with four interceptions in the Setters opening day non-conference loss to Husson College 25-13. Jones also scored a touchdown on a 58-yard interception return. The Setters drop to 0-1 on the season, while Husson improves to 1-0.

SETTERS PICKED 8TH IN NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE FOOTBALL PRESEASON COACHES’ POLL
Foxboro, MA – The Pace University football team has been picked to finish 8th in the Northeast-10 Conference, receiving 31 points, as voted on by the conference’s 10 football coaches. Southern Connecticut State University was picked to win the NE-10, receiving four first place votes to earn 91 points. The preseason poll was announced yesterday, August 1st, at the annual Northeast-10 Football Media Day Event at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES 2007 RECRUITING CLASS
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Pace Head Football Coach Mike Iezzi has announced a record-breaking incoming recruiting class for the 2007 season. The list includes 41 student-athletes who have committed to be a part of Pace's 2011 class. The incoming class includes top talent from New York, New Jersey, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, Georgia, Florida, and California. With more recruits expected to sign in the coming weeks, Coach Iezzi and his staff are optimistic about the 2007 season and beyond.
