SOUTH EASTON, MA - Five Pace University football players were named to the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Football All-Conference Teams. Seniors linebacker Joseph Streany (Croton, NY/Croton-Harmon) and defensive end Lee Robinson (New Milford, CT/New Milford) were both named to the First Team - Defense, while senior linebacker Ernst Turnier (Stratford, CT/Bunnell), junior defensive back Jon Jones (Dover, NH/Bridgton Academy) and senior punter Matt Cooney (East Rockaway, NY/East Rockaway) were all named to the Second Team - Defense.

Streany led the nation in tackles with 148, averaging 13.5 tackles per game, on his way to breaking the school record for tackles in a season, which was previously held by Brian Pirone's 142 tackles in 1994. Streany also broke the single-season record for fumble recoveries, which led the NE-10. Robinson led the NE-10 in sacks (9) and tackles for loss (18) while tying for third in forced fumbles (3), ranking him 15th nationally in sacks, 17th nationally in tackles for loss and 42nd in forced fumbles.

Turnier was fourth on the team in tackles with 65, which placed him 28th in the conference. Jones was third on the team in tackles with 75, which ranked him 19th in the conference. Jones also ranked sixth in the conference in passes defended. Jones set a new school record for interceptions in a game in the season opener with four against Husson College. Jones' five interceptions on the season ranked him second in the conference and 25th in the nation. Cooney led the NE-10 in punting averaging 38.2 yards per punt. Cooney also set a school record for longest punt when he booted a 71-yard punt against American International College.

Streany, Robinson, Turnier and Jones were all instrumental in leading a Pace defense that was ranked 52nd in the nation in total defense, 36th in rushing defense, 75th pass efficiency defense, 67th in scoring defense, 76th in sacks, 36th in turnovers gained, 22nd in interceptions and 64th in fumbles recovered. Cooney was vital in Pace ranking 69th in the nation in team net punting.
