STREANY NAMED TO 2007 DAKTRONICS DIVISION II FOOTBALL
ALL-NORTHEAST REGION SECOND TEAM DEFENSE

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The postseason honors keep rolling in for senior linebacker Joseph Streany (Croton, NY/Croton-Harmon) as he has been named to the 2007 Daktronics Division II Football All-Northeast Region Second Team Defense. Along with being named to the Daktronics All-Northeast Region Second Team, Streany was named to the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference First Team Defense, the 2007 CoSIDA College Division First Team Academic All-District Football Team and the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Football All-Academic Team as the Professional Studies major has compiled a cumulative 3.62 GPA.

Streany had a record breaking year in his final season leading the nation in tackles with 148, averaging 13.5 tackles per game, on his way to breaking the school record for tackles in a season, which was previously held by Brian Pirone who recorded 142 tackles in 1994. Streany also broke the single-season record for fumble recoveries with six, which also led the NE-10.

Streany was instrumental in leading a Pace defense that was ranked 52nd in the nation in total defense, 36th in rushing defense, 75th pass efficiency defense, 67th in scoring defense, 36th in turnovers gained and 64th in fumbles recovered.
