RYAN WILLIAMS NAMED NE-10 AND ECAC CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

SOUTH EASTON, MA- Pace University junior guard Ryan Williams (Centreville, VA/Paul VI) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference and ECAC Co-Player of the Week for the week ending February 4th. This marks the third time this season that Williams has been honored as the Player of the Week by the NE-10 and the second time he has been named the Player of the Week by the ECAC.

In two NE-10 conference games, Williams averaged 20.5 points, four rebounds, two assists and 2.5 steals. In a 72-53 win over Franklin Pierce College, he totaled 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and four steals; and in a 67-66 victory coming against Saint Anselm, Williams scored 17 of his game-high 25 points in the second half, including seven threes, while chipping in four boards.

Williams has played in all 25 games, starting 24. He has been Pace's main scoring threat leading the Setters in points scored (484), scoring average (19.4 ppg), field goals made (161), three point field goals made (90), and free throws made (72). Williams also leads the team in minutes played (820) and steals (53). Williams is shooting 42.3% (161-for-381) from the field, 41.3% (90-for-218) from beyond the arc, and a team-best 83.7% (72-for-86) from the free throw line. In the NE-10, Williams ranks second in scoring, 13th in free throw percentage, fourth in steals, 12th in three point field goal percentage, second in three point field goals made and 15th in minutes played.

Williams has moved up to 17th on the Pace University all-time scoring list with 1,216 career points. He is also second on the all-time career three-pointers list with 226, 33 away from tying the record of 259 held by Jay Carlington (1998-02), and is 10th on the all-time steals list with 125. With 90 three-pointers this season, Williams has surpassed his personal best of 88 three-pointers during his freshman season, 2004-05, and is four away from tying the single-season record of 94 three-pointers, held by Carlington (2001-02).

Pace (15-10, 11-6 NE-10) will be home for its next three games. They will be in action on Wednesday, February 7th against Le Moyne College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Setters then host Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday, February 10th for a 3:30 p.m. tip-off before closing out the homestand on Wednesday, February 14th against Southern Connecticut State Univeristy.
