RYAN WILLIAMS NAMED TO 2006-07 DAKTRONICS NCAA DIVISION II MEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-NORTHEAST REGION TEAM

ALBANY, NY- Pace University junior guard Ryan Williams (Centreville, VA/Paul VI) has been named to the 2006-07 Daktronics NCAA Division II Men's Basketball All-Northeast Region Second Team, as voted on by the Sports Information Directors throughout the Northeast Region.

Williams has played in all 32 games this season for Pace, starting 31. He is leading the team in points scored (604), points per game (18.9), field goals made (205), three-pointers made (113), steals (67) and minutes played (32.7 mpg). Williams is shooting 42.0% (205-for-488) from the field, 39.9% (113-for-283) from beyond the arc and a team-best 79.4% (81-for-102) from the free throw line. He ranks first in the Northeast-10 Conference in points per game, is second in three-pointers made per game, third in steals and 12th in three-point field goal percentage. Williams was in integral part in helping guide Pace to its sixth 20-win season and fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in school history, first since 2001-02. The Setters received the #7 seed in the Northeast Regional and will take on #2 seed The College of Saint Rose on Saturday, March 10th in Waltham, MA.

For his career, Williams is eighth on the Pace all-time scoring list with 1,336 career points. He is the eighth player in Pace University Men's Basketball history to reach the 1,300-career points plateau. Williams' 604 points scored so far this season is fifth best in school history. He is the fifth player in school history to score 600 or more points in a single season. Williams is ninth on the all-time steals list with 139 and second all-time with 249 career three-point field goals made. The record for career three-pointers is 259, held by Jay Carlington (98-02). Williams has set a new Pace record for threes in a single-season with 113 and counting. The previous record was held by Carlington, who hit 94 threes, during the 01-02 season.
