WILLIAMS NAMED TO FIRST TEAM, QUINCY-JONES SECOND TEAM
WHITE PLAINS, NY- Pace University junior Ryan Williams (Centreville, VA/Paul VI) was named to the First Team All-Met, while classmate Desmond Quincy-Jones (Rye, NY/Rye) was honored on the second team. The voters were comprised of members of the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Writers Basketball Association.
Williams had an outstanding junior season for the Setters. He led Pace in points scored (610), scoring average (18.5 ppg), field goals made (207), three-point field goals made (115), steals (68) and minutes played (32.7 mpg). For the season he shot 41.6% (207-for-498) from the field, 39.8% (115-for-289) from beyond the arc and a team-best 79.4% (81-for-102) from the free throw line. In the Northeast-10 Conference, Williams ranked first in scoring, second in steals and three-point field goals made and 13th in three-point field goal percentage. Williams ranked 13th nationally in three-point field goals made. Williams' 610 points scored this season ranks 4th all-time in points scored in a single-season in Pace history, while his 68 steals on the season is 6th best in school history. On December 29th against Felician, Williams became the 27th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. On February 10 against Southern New Hampshire, he set a new school record for three-pointers made in a single season, finishing the season with 115. For his career, Williams ranks eighth in school history in points scored with 1,342, ninth in steals with 140 and second in career three-pointers made with 251.
Quincy-Jones had a breakout junior campaign for the Setters. He
finished second on the team in points scored (461), scoring average
(14.0 ppg), field goals made (166), rebounds (236), rebound average
(7.2 rpg), offensive rebounds (83), defensive rebounds (153),
blocked shots (25) and minutes played (30.1 mpg).
Quincy-Jones led the team in three-point field goal percentage,
shooting 43.9% (36-for-82), while shooting 51.6% (166-for-322) from
the field. In the Northeast-10 Conference, Quincy-Jones ranked
16th in scoring, 8th in rebounding,
14th in field goal percentage, first in three-point
field goal percentage, 13th in offensive rebounds and
10th in defensive rebounds.
