RYAN WILLIAMS NAMED TO 2008 NABC DIVISION II
ALL-DISTRICT NORTHEAST FIRST TEAM

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The awards keep rolling in for Pace University senior guard Ryan Williams (Centreville, VA/Paul VI), as he has been named to the 2008 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II All-District Northeast First Team, which recognizes the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes in Division II and is selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC. Williams is now eligible for the State Farm Division II All-America teams, which is also selected by the NABC. Williams was also named to the 2007-08 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Basketball All-Conference First Team and the 2007-08 Daktronics NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Northeast All-Region First Team earlier this month, as well as being honored as a preseason All-American Honorable Mention by the Sporting News back in November.

Williams finished his stellar four-year Pace career tied for second on the schools all-time scoring list with 1,892 career points and ranked sixth on the all-time steals list with 175, while recording 402 career rebounds and 225 career assists. Williams also rewrote the schools three-point record book, as he leaves Pace as the all-time leader in career three-pointers made (340), threes made in a single-season (115), which he accomplished last year (2006-07), and three-pointers made by a freshman (88). Williams also set the school freshman record for points with 458, on his way to being named the 2004-05 NE-10 Conference Co-Freshman of the Year, as well as being named to the conference All-Rookie Team.

Williams played in all 28 games this season for Pace (14-14, 13-9 NE-10), while making 27 starts, logging in 35.8 minutes per contest, good for sixth in the NE-10 in minutes played. He scored a team-best 550 points on the year, averaging 19.6 points per game, good for second in the conference, while shooting 44.2% (180-for-407) from the field, including 41.0% (89-for-217) from beyond the arc and 78.9% (101-for-128) from the free throw line. Williams' conference leading 89 three-pointers on the season ranked him second in the conference in three-point field goals per game (3.18), while also ranking 10th in the conference in three-point field goal percentage and 14th in free throw percentage. Williams also averaged 4.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Nationally in Division II, Williams ranks 25th in scoring, 15th in three-point field goals per game and 39th in three-point field goal percentage.
