MERRIMACK STAYS UNDEFEATED; PACE WINS OT THRILLER
MERRIMACK'S DARREN DUNCAN NAMED TOURNAMENT MVP

Game 1- MERRIMACK 83, BLOOMFIELD 72

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Warriors of Merrimack stayed unbeaten on the final day of the Pace Holiday Classic posting an 83-72 win over the Deacons of Bloomfield College. The Warriors improve to 8-2 overall, while the Deacons drop to 10-4 on the season.

For Merrimack, Darren Duncan totaled 20 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals, earning Tournament MVP Honors for his two-day performance. Darin Mency chipped in 12 points and six caroms, while Chris Winter scored a team-high 21 points.  

For Bloomfield, Omari Knox posted back-to-back double-double efforts with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Barney Anderson recorded 17 points and seven rebounds, while Elias Brantly chipped 12 points and six assists. Charles Smith grabbed nine boards, to go along with his nine points.  

GAME 2- PACE 83, CALDWELL 73 (OT)

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Desmond Quincy-Jones (Rye, NY/Rye) nailed a three-pointer from the top of the key at the buzzer of regulation to tie the score at 69 and force overtime where the Setters got ahead early and took home the 83-73 victory over the Cougars of Caldwell College. The Setters improve to 5-6 overall, while the Cougars drop to 2-8 on the season.

For Pace, Quincy-Jones recorded 20 points and nine rebounds, while shooting 6-for-13 from the field. In the first minute of the game, a lay-up by Quincy-Jones gave him 1,000 points for his Setter career, becoming the 29th player in school history to join the 1,000 point club. Ryan Williams (Centreville, VA/Paul VI) tallied 20 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in the win. Carlos Howard (Fort Washington, MD/Gonzaga College High) scored 10 points off the bench, while Randy Wilson (Peekskill, NY/Peekskill) recorded nine points and 10 caroms.

For Caldwell, Manny Perez totaled 16 points and eight rebounds, while Michael Wise posted 13 points, three boards and three assists. B.J. Suchy finished with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.

The Setters return to action when they turn the calendar to 2008 and travel to North Andover, MA where they will face the Warriors of Merrimack College on Saturday, January 5 for a 3:30 pm tip-off.
