SETTERS RUN PAST GREYHOUNDS 84-63

 PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace University men's overcame an early first half deficit to cruise past the Greyhounds of Assumption College 84-63.

Pace improve to 7-5 overall and 5-2 in the Northeast-10 with the win, while Assumption falls to 7-4 overall and 4-3 in the NE-10 with the loss.

The Setters were led by Carlos Howard (Fort Washington, MD/Gonzaga College High) netting a game-high 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting including four shots made from beyond the arc.

Laurence McGhee (Linden, NJ/Linden) also had a solid performance with eleven points scored and a game-high seven assists.  

Delroy Daley (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond HS) led the Setters in rebounding with nine rebounds. Daley also netted eleven points against the Greyhounds. Freshman Tristan Benjamin (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) totaled 15 points, along with eight rebounds.

The Setters were down 23-12 midway through the opening period, but responded by going on a 36-7 scoring run to end the first half with a 48-30 score, which gave the Setters commanding lead.

The Setters built on that lead in the second half to ultimately give themselves the 21 point victory.

The Setters return to action on Wednesday, January 6 when they face off against Northeast-10 Conference foe Franklin Pierce University for 7:30 p.m. match-up in Pace Pleasantville's Goldstein Fitness Center.
