SETTERS FALL TO RAVENS 80-72 IN OT

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace University men's basketball team failed to hold on in their conference match-up against Franklin Pierce falling 80-72 in overtime. Pace falls to 7-6 overall and 5-3 in the Northeast-10 with the loss, while Franklin Pierce improves to 6-6 overall and 2-6 in the NE-10 with the win.

Ryan Woods (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's Boys) shined for the Setters with a double-double scoring 21 points, and taking down eleven rebounds.

Laurence McGhee (Linden, NJ/Linden) also had a solid performance with 15 points scored.

Down by ten with the score 30-20, and six minutes remaining in the first half, the Setters were forced to rally back, and did so by going on a 13-4 scoring run to slice their deficit to within one going into halftime with a 34-33 score.  

The two schools would keep it close in the second half, trading the lead six times in the final regulation period. The second half would end with Franklin Pierce's Jeff Manchester missing a jumper sending the game to overtime.

In overtime, the Setters gave themselves a 72-70 lead, but the Ravens went on a 10-0 scoring run the rest of the way to go home with the victory.

The Setters return to action on Saturday, January 9 when they take the road to face the Stonehill College Skyhawks in a NE-10 game set for a 3:30 p.m. tip off in Easton, MA.
