SETTERS FALL TO PURPLE KNIGHTS 63-48
COLCHESTER, VT- Pace sophomore Adrian Mills (Woodbridge, VA/Paul VI) led the Setters offense by scoring a team-high 12 points, in a 63-48 loss to the Purple Knights of Saint Michael's College. Mills also took down nine rebounds in the contest. The loss drops Pace's record to 7-9 overall and 5-6 in the NE-10. For the Purple Knights, the win improves their record to 7-8 overall and 3-8 in conference play.
Both schools battled to a 16-13 score with the Purple Knights holding the three point lead in the game's first seven minutes. Saint Michael's would go on a 12-4 from this point to take an 11 point lead. With 6:20 remaining in the opening half, the Setters rallied back to within four of the Purple Knights, but Saint Michael's would bounce back to take a 15 point 45-30 lead going into the half.
Pace would use an 8-2 run to slice the deficit to nine, but Saint Michael's would shoot its way back to a double digit lead. The Setters would not be within a single digits of the Purple Knights for the rest of the game as they cruised to a 15 point win.
Along with Mills, Ryan Woods (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's Boys) was also a key contributor for the Setters finishing the game with seven points and team-high nine rebounds
Pace senior Laurence McGhee (Linden, NJ/Linden) also had a solid performance by scoring nine points and dishing out four assists.
The Setters will be returning to action on Wednesday, January 20 when they travel to Manchester, NH to face off against the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University in a Northeast-10 Conference game set for a 7:30 p.m. tip off.
