SETTERS FIGHT FOR NE-10 UPSET WIN OVER MERRIMACK
DALEY GETS DOUBLE-DOUBLE AND CARRER-HIGH REBOUNDS IN WIN

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Pace sophomore Delroy Daley (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond HS) used a double-double performance of 16 points and a career-high 14 rebounds to lead the Setters to a 77-73 victory over the Warriors of Merrimack College.

Pace improves to 8-10 overall and 6-7 in the Northeast-10 with the win, while Merrimack falls to 12-4 overall and 10-3 in the NE-10.

Ryan Woods (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's Boys) was another solid contributor on the boards in the game collecting 13 rebounds along with scoring six points.

Laurence McGhee (Linden, NJ/Linden) and Justin Alston (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond HS) also had solid performances with 19 points apiece.

The two schools battled in the first half, but the Setters ended up on top leading by three at the end of the opening period with the score 32-29.

The Setters continued strong in the second half jumping to a six point 46-40 lead six minutes in. The Warriors would bounce back however, creeping back to gain a four point advantage after a 10-0 run. With 6:38 remaining in the game, the Warriors jumped out to a nine point 63-54 lead. The Setters would use a 17-2 run over the next six minutes to give themselves a 71-65 advantage. After Merrimack pulled itself to within two, after a 6-2 run, Pace used solid free throw shooting to put the game away 77-73.

The Setters return to action on Tuesday, January 26 when they go on the road to face the University of Massachusetts Lowell River Hawks in a NE-10 game set for a 7:30 p.m. tip off in Lowell, MA.
