HOWARD SCORES 18 IN 82-74 LOSS TO SAINT ROSE
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Pace senior Carlos Howard (Fort Washington, MD/Gonzaga College High) drained a team-high 18 points in the Setters 82-74 loss to the Golden Knights of the College Saint Rose. Pace falls to 10-14 overall and 8-11 in the Northeast-10 with the loss, while Saint Rose improves to 14-10 overall and 11-8 in the NE-10 with the win.
The two schools battled to a tie at 19 with 6:19 remaining in the opening half. A 20-10 run gave the Golden Knights a 10 point lead to end the first half.
The Golden Knights would climb out to a 16 point lead with 14:10 remaining in the game. A 9-0 run by the Setters brought them to within nine of the Golden Knights.
Saint Rose would expand its lead to double digits 4:29 remaining after a Sheldon Griffin layup. The Setters would battle back to within ten in the final minute, but Saint Rose pulled away with the eight point victory.
Delroy Daley (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond HS), Callum Jones (Manchester, ENG/St. Thomas Moore Prep), David Eismeier (Burke, VA/Bishop O'Connell) each score 14 points apiece in the loss.
The Setters return to action on Wednesday, February 17 when they take the road to face the Dolphins of Le Moyne College in a NE-10 game set for a 7:30 p.m. tip off in Syracuse, NY.
