GOLF PLACES SECOND AT THE 4TH ANNUAL PETER KING MEMORIAL
RIVERHEAD, NY - The Pace University men's golf team shot a two-day team score of 610 (300-310) +42 to finish in second place in the 16-team field Fourth Annual Peter Kind Memorial, held at Long Island National Golf Club in Riverhead, NY and hosted by Dowling College this past Sunday and Monday, April 6-7th. The Setters were the daily leader after Sunday shooting a daily low round 300, but struggled a bit on Monday shooting a 310 to finish in second. Post University won the event behind a strong second day shooting a two-day team score of 602 (308-294) +34.
The Setters were led by senior Dan Psinakis (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow), who carded a 150 (75-75) +8, tying him for fourth place. Post's Ryan Philipp won the individual event with a 146 (75-71) +4, beating out the 80-player field.
Freshmen Matt Dziubina (Shelton, CT/Shelton) also recorded a top-10 finish with a 152 (74-78) +10, good for a tie for ninth, while freshman Kent St. Charles (Wells, ME/Wells) and junior Matt Hurlihy (Croton, NY/Croton) both finished in a tie for 16th place with identical scores of 74-80 (154) +12.
Seniors Bill DeLucia (Hamden, CT/Notre Dame) and Mike Dominici (Norwalk, CT/BMHS) rounded out Pace's finish with scores of 157 (80-77) +15 and 161 (77-84) +19, respectively.
Pace will next be in action this
weekend, Saturday - Sunday, April 12th &
13th, when the Setters travel to Links at Sunset Ridge
in Marcellus, NY to take part in the Le Moyne College Spring
Invitational.
