GOLF TIES FOR SECOND PLACE AT THE LE MOYNE SPRING INVITATIONAL
MARCELLUS, NY - The Pace University men's golf team shot a two-day team score of 605 (299-306) to finish in a tie for second place in the 17-team field Le Moyne College Invitational, held at Links at Sunset Ridge in Marcellus, NY, this past Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13th. The Setters were the daily leader after Saturday shooting a daily low round 299, but only managed to shoot a 306 the next day to finish in a tie for second with Northeast-10 Conference rival Bryant University (605/304-301). Saint Thomas Aquinas College won the event behind a solid day two, edging out both Pace and Bryant with a two-day team score of 601 (308-293).
Freshmen Matt Dziubina (Shelton, CT/Shelton) led the way for the Setters shooting a 146 (70-76), good for a tie for third place. Dziubina's score of 70 on day one was the daily low round leader. Bryant's Nick Caccia won the individual event behind a strong second day shooting a 144 (75-69).
Senior Dan Psinakis (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) also placed a top-10 finish with a score of 151 (74-77), tying him for ninth place. Junior Matt Hurlihy (Croton, NY/Croton) was right behind Psinakis finishing in a tie for 11th place with a score of 152 (76-76).
Freshman Kent St. Charles (Wells, ME/Wells) and senior Mike Dominici (Norwalk, CT/BMHS) rounded out Pace's finish with scores of 156 (79-77) and 160 (82-78), respectively.
Playing as an individual, senior Bill DeLucia (Hamden, CT/Notre Dame) shot a 150 (76-74), good for an eighth place finish.
Pace will conclude their regular season this Monday - Tuesday,
April 21st & 22nd, when the Setters
travel to Springfield, Massachusetts to take part in the American
International College Invitational.
