STRONG FINAL ROUND TIES MEN'S GOLF FOR FIFTH AT THE
2007 ECAC MEN'S DIVISION II GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

SYRACUSE, NY - The Pace University men's golf team posted a team score of 600 (+32) to finish in a tie for fifth place in the 21-team field at the 2007 ECAC Men's Division II Golf Championship held at Drumlins Country Club. Wilmington College also finished with a team score of 600. Host Le Moyne College won the championship with a team score of 585 (+17). Bryant University (588), Adelphi University (591) and Bentley College (599) rounded out the top-five. Joe Tesori of Le Moyne and Nick Zolotas of Saint Thomas Aquinas College tied for low medalist honors shooting a 143 (+1), beating out the field of 105 golfers.

Pace was tied for 9th place with a team score of 309 after the opening round, but the Setters were able to put together a strong finish with a final round team score of 291.

Freshman Matt Dziubina (Shelton, CT/Shelton) (75/72) led the way for the Setters finishing in a tie for 11th with a 147 (+5). Senior Dan Psinakis (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) (74/74) also posted a top-20 finish tying for 18th place with a 148 (+6).

Senior Mike Dominici (Norwalk, CT/BMHS) bounced back with a final round score of 71 after shooting an opening round 81 to finish with a two-day score of 152 (+10), good for a tie for 37th.

Senior Bill DeLucia (Hamden, CT/Notre Dame) and freshman Kent St. Charles (Wells, ME/Wells) both shot an opening round 80 and final round 74 for a score of 154 (+12) to finish in a tie for 50th.

Pace returns to action next weekend Sunday and Monday, September 30th & October 1st, when they travel to Tyngsboro, Massachusetts to take place in the Northeast-10 Conference Golf Championship, set to be held at Vesper Country Club, hosted by the University of Massachusetts - Lowell.
