GOLF PLACES SECOND AT THE CHARGER
CHALLENGE
Mike Dominici finished in a three-way tie for first
SUFFERN, NY - The Pace University men's golf team posted a second place finish with a team score of 617 (+41) in the 11-team field at the Charger Challenge which was held at Spook Rock Golf Course and hosted by Dominican College. Pace came back with a second round score of 304 after shooting a first round 313 to edge out Post University, which shot a 618 (317-301) +42. Host Dominican won the event with a team score of 614 (302-312) +38.
Senior Mike Dominici (Norwalk, CT/BMHS) led the way for the Setters with a score of 150 (+6), which tied him for first place along with Dominican's Brian Mackey (76-74) and Post's Lee Wanklyn (78-72). After shooting an opening round 77 (+5), Dominici shot a final round 73 (+1) to finish in the three-way tie for first in the 54-player field. Classmate Dan Psinakis (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) also posted a strong finish falling one stroke behind Dominici, shooting a 151 (76-75) +7.
Junior Mark Huntington (Brewster, NY/North Salem) shot a 158 (79-79) +14, while freshman Kent St. Charles (Wells, ME/Wells) shot a 159 (81-78) +15.
Freshman Matt Dziubina (Shelton,
CT/Shelton) finished out the day for the Setters with a
score of 160 (82-78) +16.
