GOLF TEAM PLACES 9TH AT THE MIKE BELLO INVITATIONAL

 

MARCELLUS, NY - The Pace University men's golf team shot a two-day team score of 671 (335, 336) to finish in 9th place in the 13 team field. The tournament was held at the Links at Sunset Ridge in Marcellus, NY, and hosted by Le Moyne College.

Pace finished the first day of the tournament shooting 335 as a team which put them in a tie for 7th place after day one. The Setters shot one more stroke on the second day shooting a 336 which gave them a 9th place finishing, and left them two strokes behind 8th place Wilmington College. Laval University from Quebec, Canada won the tournament shooting a 592 (295, 297) for the event.

Pace was led by sophomore Kent St. Charles (Wells, ME/Wells) who shot a 161 (83, 78) for the tournament which placed him in a tie for 18th for the event. St. Charles's round also included the low round out of any Pace player for the tournament shooting a 78 on Day 2. Sophomore Rob Sorrentino (Tarrytown, NY/Archbishop Stepinac) finished in second on the team with a score of 168 (86, 82), and tied for 32nd place in the event. Senior Kyle Munoz (Mt. Vernon, NY/Mt. Vernon) also had a great day for the Setters shooting a 171 (80, 91)  

The golf team will be back on the course Sunday, April 19 as they will travel to Dracut, MA to compete in the UMass Lowell Invitational.
