MEN'S GOLF PLACES SEVENTH IN SEASON OPENING MEET
RISING SUN, MD- The Pace golf team opened its season, finishing seventh overall at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational at the Chesapeake Bay Golf Club in Rising Sun, MD. The tournament was a 36-hole event in which nine schools competed. Wilmington University took home first place with a total score of 588.
The Setters finished with a team score of 637, and were led by senior Matthew Herlihy (Croton, NY/Croton Harmon) who tied for 25th with a 36-hole score of 157 (79, 78). Teammate Kent St. Charles (Wells, ME/Wells) finished right behind Herlihy tying for 28th overall with a total score of 158 (80, 78).
Senior Kyle Munoz (Mt. Vernon, NY/Mt. Vernon) finished in a tie for 35th with an overall score of 161 (83, 78). Junior Rob Sorrentino (Tarrytown, NY/Archbishop Stepinac) finished 40th overall with a score of 163 (83, 80).
Rounding out the Setters in the competition was Alexander Smith (Pleasantville, NY/Longwood) who finished 51st with a score of 176 (81, 95) overall.
The Setters return to action on Monday, September 21 when they travel to the Northeast Intercollegiate Championship at Post University.
