MEN'S LACROSSE ANNOUNCES ITS INCOMING RECRUITING CLASS
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Dave Carty has announced his incoming recruiting class for the 2009-10 academic year. "The Pace University Men's Lacrosse program is very proud to announce the twelve student athletes who will join our class of 2013," said Carty "This is a group of skilled, hard working athletes, they will add depth and athleticism to our roster and look to fill the holes left by our talented senior class"
Chris Tong, Nanuet NY, Midfielder/Face Off - Chris was an All section one face-off midfielder and Team MVP. He is a quick midfielder with great defensive skills. He should add depth to the midfield.
Andrew Cook, Valley Central NY, Attack - Section 9 All-American, First Team Section 9. At Valley Central, he posted 142 Goals and 100 Assists in his career. A big physical Attack-man with good finishing skills should help the Setter offense put points on the board.
Tom Earl, North Babylon, NY, Attack - Tom is a good player from one of the top programs in the country. With nine goals and five assists, he should help the offense with depth and stick skills. He is a hard worker and knows the game well. He helped St. Anthony's to the NSCHSAA Championship in 2009.
Pat Joyce, Binghamton NY, B.C.C., Defense - A very experienced defender, Pat will contribute immediately at Close Defense. He is a smart player who can run the defense and communicate very well. A two-year starter at Broome, he has skills and experience.
Robert Tamas, Colts Neck NJ, Attack -At Colts Neck, he posted 55 Goals and 34 Assists. A good smart offensive player who makes plays and was All Conference and All Division player.
Vince Rini, Allentown NJ, Mid/LSM - A very adaptable player who can play very well in between the boxes. Good defensively and smart with the ball. Will help create transition for the Setters. All Valley and All CVC Player.
Mike Ruppert, Hicksville, NY, D-Mid/LSM - Mike is great hardworking and hustling player, smart on and off the ball. He will look to contribute on the defensive side of the ball. Was an All- NSCHSAA selection.
John Cannizzaro, Mount Olive NJ, Mid/Face Off - John is a tough face-off player who works hard and has a great work ethic. Great on groundballs and a hustler. He will add depth to the Face-off.
Alex Cain, Rocky Point, NY, Goalie - Alex is a great physical keeper. Smart and quick he should help the Setters replace the loss of All-American Goalie Tim Matheis. Alex will look to compete for the job immediately.
Zack Pirro, Plano, TX, Goalie - Zack is a good stopper who sees the ball well. Smart and Athletic, he will compete for the starting position.
Logan McDermott, Valley Central, NY, Goalie - Logan is a good instinctual Goalie who plays well out of the net. A Second Team All-Section 9 Goalie, Logan helps at depth at the goalie position.
Jake Galizia, Oyster Bay, NY, Defense - Jake is a big physical close defenseman that can play the ball and slide to stop the dodge. Good stick skills and good athleticism will help the Setters.
