SOFTBALL PICKED TO FINISH 9TH IN NE-10 PRESEASON COACHES' POLL

SOUTH EASTON, MA - The Pace University softball team has been picked to finish ninth in the Northeast-10 Conference, as voted on by the coaches. The Setters open the season against Saint Augustine College on Monday, March 19th in North Carolina. They're home opener is scheduled for Thursday, March 29th, when Pace plays host to Dowling College.

The Dolphins of Le Moyne College are picked to capture the Northeast-10 regular season title as determined by the league's 15 softball coaches.

Le Moyne received six of the 15 first place votes in the poll and 212 points, edging Bryant University by five votes (207). The Bulldogs, last season's regular season and tournament champion, received four first place votes.

The University of Massachusetts Lowell picked up the remaining five first place votes and 199 points. Southern New Hampshire University followed with 178 points, while Southern Connecticut State University received 147 tallies to round out the top five.

The remainder of the field included, in order, Assumption College (128) and Stonehill College (128) tied for sixth place followed by American International College (124), Pace University (103), Saint Michael's College (102), Merrimack College (93), Saint Anselm College (58), The College of Saint Rose (55), Bentley College (42), and Franklin Pierce College (24).
