SOFTBALL SWEPT BY LE MOYNE

SYRACUSE, NY - The Pace University softball team dropped a Northeast-10 Conference twin bill to the Dolphins of Le Moyne College on Sunday. The Dolphins held off the Setters in the first game 5-4, before cruising to the doubleheader sweep in game two, 8-0, in five innings. Pace drops to an even 10-10 on the year and 2-6 in the NE-10, while Le Moyne improves to 17-7 on the season, remaining a perfect 6-0 in conference play.

Juniors Trish Alluto's (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional) and Christina Pane (Stony Point, NY/Cardinal Spellman) each had a pair of hits in the doubleheader, while classmate Missy Dubey (Middlefield, CT/Coginchaug Regional) had two RBI in the opener. Allutto and Patti Hurley (Assonet, MA/Apponequet) also drove in a run for the Setters in game one.

Junior Kiryl Shada (Pleasant Prairie, WI/Tremper) (5-4) went six innings allowing five runs (one earned) on seven hits, walking one and striking out one. Freshman Christina Rescigno (Elmsford, NY/Good Counsel Academy) (2-3) pitched the second game allowing eight runs on 12 hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Pace returns to action this Wednesday, April 9th, as the Setters will host New York Tech in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Pace Field on the Briarcliff campus.
