NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE
ANNOUNCES SOFTBALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS
Frisbie, Ketchel and Shada Named to Second Team; Allutto Named
to Third Team
SOUTH EASTON, MA - The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2008 Softball All-Academic Team. To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.
Pace University seniors Alton Frisbie (Indian Hills, CO/Conifer) and DJ Ketchel (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) and junior Kiryl Shada (Pleasant Prairie, WI/Tremper) were all named to the 2008 NE-10 Softball All-Academic Second Team, while junior Trish Alluto (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional) was named to the Third Team. Frisbie has posted a 3.37 cumulative GPA as a Criminal Justice major, Ketchel has posted a 3.46 cumulative GPA as a Childhood Education major, Shada has posted a 3.56 cumulative GPA as a Psychology major and Allutto has posted a 3.25 cumulative GPA as a Biology major.
Frisbie has stared in 26 of 27 games played this season and is
batting .272 (22-for-81) with 10 runs scored, 18 RBI, four doubles
and a homerun. Ketchel has started in 22 of 25 games played on the
year and is batting .262 (16-for-61) with 10 runs scored, 13 RBI,
two doubles, a triple and a homerun. Shada has been the centerpiece
of the Setters pitching staff making 18 appearances, 17 starts,
posting a 9-8 record with a 2.12 ERA striking out 79 batters in
119.0 innings pitched. Allutto has started in all 38 games of the
season for Pace, batting .228 (26-for-109) with 10 runs scored, 18
RBI, five doubles and three homeruns.
