SETTERS DROP DOUBLEHEADER TO NEW YORK TECH

OLD WESTBURY, NY- The Pace softball team was limited to five hits as the Setters dropped a pair of games to the Bears of New York Tech. The Bears took the opener 4-0 and won game two 6-0. The Setters drop to 5-4 overall, while the Bears improve to 17-11 on the season.

In the opener, the Setters had two hits as Christina Pane (Stony Point, NY/Cardinal Spellman) and Kerri McLean (Woodhaven, NY/Archbishop Molloy) each singled for Pace. In the mound, Kiryl Shada (Pleasant Prairie, WI/Tremper) (3-2) tossed a complete game, allowing seven his on four runs, while fanning six.

In the nightcap, Pace was limited to three hits as Patricia Hurley (Assonet, MA/Apponequet) recorded the lone extra base hit of the day with a first inning double. On the hill, Alicia Parlon (Norton, MA/Norton) (2-2) went three innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on two hits, while striking out one. Christina Rescigno (Elmsford, NY/Good Counsel Academy) went the final three innings, giving up two runs on three hits.

Pace is back in action on Friday, March 27 when the Setters will open their Northeast-10 Conference schedule on the road as they travel to Albany, NY to take on the Golden Knights of Saint Rose. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
