SWIMMING TEAMS FALL TO THE COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The men's swimming team lost to the College of Staten Island 45-153, while the women's team fell 73-111. Despite the losses, the Setters set several school record in the meet.

On the women's side, Meaghan Morley won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.97 and the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.31. Erin Johanson took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.12 and the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:07.46. Callie Grace won the 200 IM with a time of 2:27.01 and also the 100-yard breaststroke posting a 1:17.30. Ellen Lynch took second in the 1000 freestyle with a timwe of 14:29.75 and the 100-yard backstroke recording 1:16.03. The quartet of Morley, Grace, Johanson and Lynch set a school record in the 200-yard medley as the four swimmers combined for a 2:02.45.

For the men, Yoshi Kameyama set a pair of school records. Kameyama posted a 22.49 in the 50-yard freestyle, taking first place and recorded a 49.79 in the 100-yard freestyle, also setting a school record. Kameyama also placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.48. Craig McClintock set the fourth school record of the meet in the 200-yard freestyle, posting a 1:58.57, taking first place. McClintock took second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.54 and third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:21.41. Peter Byrnes took second in he 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:35.59, second in the 100 fly with a 1:06.15 and second in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:30.98.
