MEN AND WOMEN FALL TO ADELPHI
PLEASANTVILLE, NY - In a dual meet Saturday afternoon at the Goldstein Health, Fitness & Recreation Center on Pace's Pleasantville campus, the Pace University men's and women's swimming teams lost to the Panthers of Adelphi University by scores of 42-111 and 82-91, respectively.
On the women's side, senior Meghan Morley (Delhi, NY/Delhi Central) and sophomore Erin Johanson (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield) each took home a pair of first place finishes as Morley placed first in the 50-yard Freestyle (26.70) and the 100-yard Freestyle (57.74) and Johanson placed first in the 200-yard Freestyle (2:05.79) and the 100-yard Butterfly (1:06.90). Freshman Callie Grace (Dalton, MA/Miss Halls) also posted a victory taking the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:27.62. The women also took home the 200-yard Medley Relay with the team of Morley, Grace, Johanson and senior Ellen Lynch (Rockaway, NY/The Mary Louis Academy).
On the men's side junior Enrick Garcia (Moriches, NY/St. John the Baptist) took home the lone Pace first place finish on the afternoon in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:24.13. Freshman Ryosuke Kameyama (Goshen, NY/Goshen Central) finished the meet with a pair of second place finishes in the 50-yard Freestyle (22.97) and the 100-yard Freestyle (50.11). Juniors Craig McClintock (Valhalla, NY/Valhalla) and Peter Byrnes (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West) also took home a second a place finish in the 200-yard Freestyle (2:01.10) and the 500-yard Freestyle (5:34.83), respectively.
The Setters will be back in action when thy travel to New Haven,
Connecticut to participate in the Northeast-10 Conference
Championships. Southern Connecticut State University will be
hosting the championships, which are scheduled for Friday, November
30th - Sunday December 2nd.
