SETTERS PLACE FOURTH AT McCARTHY INVITATIONAL
NEW YORK, NY- The Pace men's/women's swimming and diving team took home fourth place at the McCarthy Invitational. The Setters were led by Callie Grace (Dalton, MA/Miss Hall's) who placed first in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events. Grace also came in third for the 100-yard breaststroke.
Other notable women's performances came from Deveney Zebrowski (Hewitt, NJ/Academy of Saint Elizabeth) who finished in third for both 50-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke, as well as Jordan Beberman (Sharon, MA/Sharon) who came in third in the 500-yard freestyle.
In the women's relay portion of the meet, the quartet of Kathleen Black (Dedham, MA/Hartwick College), Erin Johanson (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield), Zebrowski, and Grace finished in second for the 400 freestyle relay.
On the men's side of the team, Christiaan Van Zyl (Dubai, United Arab Emirates/Dubai American Academy) finished with two third place finishes in the 200-yard IM and the 50-yard butterfly.
Other notable men's finishes came from John Nelson (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Westchester Community College) finishing third in the 100-yard breaststroke, and William King (Oakdale, NY/Connetquot) who placed third in the 500-yard freestyle.
The Setters return to action on Wednesday, October 21 when they take on the College of Staten Island, for a 5:30 p.m. meet in Pace's Goldstein Fitness Center.
