MEN'S SWIMMING FALLS, WHILE WOMEN'S S DEFEATS STATEN ISLAND
MEN'S SETS SIX SCHOOL RECORDS IN OPENING MEET

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace women's swimming team came out victorious over the College of Staten Island by a 126-77 score, while the men's team fell 141-77 in a dual meet for the season opener. Despite the loss, the men's team set six new records in the meet.

Kevin Dickson (Coldingham, Scotland/Wallace High) set two new records in the 50-yard freestyle (22.49), which was good for first place, and in the 100-yard butterfly (54.07) giving him second place at the meet.

Christiaan Van Zyl (Dubai, United Arab Emirates/Dubai American Academy) made a new record in the 100-yard backstroke (58.18). Van Zyl finished in the second for the 100-yard backstroke and also came in second for the 200-yard backstroke.

Two diving records were set by Eric Fletcher (Katonah, NY/John Jay-Cross River) who set new record in the 1M and 3M diving events (160.80, and 153.08 respectively)

The quartet of John Nelson (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Westchester Community College), William King (Oakdale, NY/Connetquot), Dickson and Van Zyl finished first in the 400-yard Medley Relay with a new record time of 3:54.55.

For the women's portion of the competition, Callie Grace (Dalton, MA/Miss Hall's) placed first in 100-yard freestyle event. Grace also came in second for the 50-yard freestyle. Sophomore Angela Calia (Bellmore, NY/John F. Kennedy) also has a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle event.

Jenna Wood (Fairport, NY/Fairport) placed first in both the 200-yard IM and 100-yard backstroke.

Deveney Zebrowski (Hewitt, NJ/Academy of Saint Elizabeth) finished first in the 200-yard freestyle and second in the 100-yard backstroke.

Jordan Beberman (Sharon, MA/Sharon) placed first in the 1000-yard freestyle.

The women's team also had a first place finish from Alicia Holzer (Cromwell, CT/Cromwell) who took the victory in the 50-yard freestyle and came in second for the 100-yard freestyle.

Laeh Yang-Dipietro (New Rochelle, NY/Good Counsel Academy) placed first in the 100-yard freestyle.

In diving, Cassandra Gentile (Cortland, Manor/Walter Panas) finished in first for the 1M and 3M diving events.

In the women's relay portion of the meet, the quartet of Wood, Holzer, Zebrowski, and Grace finished in first for the 400 freestyle relay.

The Setters return to action on Thursday, November 5 when they take on Lehman College, for a 6:30 p.m. meet in Pace's Goldstein Fitness Center.
