MEN'S SWIMMING FALL WHILE WOMEN'S POST PAIR OF WINS IN TRI-MEET
WORCHESTER, MA- The Pace women's swimming team came out victorious in a tri-meet against St. Michael's and Assumption Colleges. The meet was held at Assumption College. The Setters beat St. Michael's 75-47, while beating Assumption 74-48. The men's swimming team for Pace fell to St. Michael's by a 162-83.
Deveney Zebrowski (Hewitt, NJ/Academy of Saint Elizabeth) was one of the top performers on the women's side of the meet, coming away with two first place finishes in the 200-yard Freestyle (2:06.79), and the 50-yard Freestyle (26.46).
Another solid performance for the Setters came from Jenna Wood (Fairport, NY/Fairport) with first place finishes in the 100-yard Backstroke (1:03.25), and the 200-yard Backstroke (2:17.03).
Callie Grace (Dalton, MA/Miss Hall's) placed first in the 100-yard Freestyle with a 57.03 time.
Sophomore Angela Calia (Bellmore, NY/John F. Kennedy) earned herself first place in the 100-yard breastroke with a time of 1:17.57.
The foursome of Chelsea Oberhauser (Cream Ridge, NJ/Notre Dame HS), Erin Johanson (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield), Alicia Holzer (Cromwell, CT/Cromwell), and Grace placed first in the 200-yard Freestyle relay with a combined time of 1:49.90.
In the 400-yard Medley Relay, the quartet of Zebrowski, Calia, Wood, and Callie placed with a time of 4:19.53.
Despite a loss, the men's swimming team for Pace still saw many solid performances.
Kevin Dickson (Coldingham, Scotland/Wallace High) earned three first place finishes at the meet in the 200-yard Butterfly (2:12.84), 100-yard Butterfly (55.13), and the 200-yard Freestyle (1:48.85).
John Nelson (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Westchester Community College) came away with two first place finishes in the 100-yard Breastroke (1:08.63), and the 200-yard Breaststroke (2:33.33).
The quartet of Christiaan Van Zyl (Dubai, United Arab Emirates/Dubai American Academy), William King (Oakdale, NY/Connetquot), Nelson and Dickson saw a victory in the 400-yard Medley Relay with a time of 3:54.01.
The Setters return to action on Friday, November 13 when they go to Riverdale, NY for a tri-meet with Hunter, and Manhattan College, for a 6:30 pm start.
