TRACK AND FIELD TEAMS HAVE RECORD PERFORMANCES
STATEN ISLAND, NY- The Setters men and women's track and field teams combined to set eight new school records at the Wagner Invitational over the weekend.
For the men's team, Chris Hanson placed fourth out of 17 in the javelin, tossing a school record 48.22 meters. In the 4 X 100 meter relay, Keneil Edmund, Ruben Pagen, Mark Lennon and Ryan Saddler combined to set a school record with a time of 44.81 seconds. Pagan also competed in the 100-meter dash, finishing 13th out of 32 with a time of 11.74 seconds. In the 400-meter hurdles, Kency Gilet finished six out of 13 with a school record time of 59.32 seconds. Mike Tanzi finished 14 out of 35 in the 500 meter run, with a personal-best time of 16:37.80. In the men's shotput, Jarrett Foster finished 13 out of 33, tossing a distance of 11.39 meters.
On the women's side, Ashley Wallace finished ninth out of 19
with another school record of 13.61 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
Wallace took fifth out of 27 in the discus, hurling a distance of
32.08 meters. She took second place in the shotput tossing a
distance of 10.52 meters. In the javelin, Kim Ludewig achieved
10th place out of 19 competitors, tossing a distance of
17.53 meters, for yet another school record. Caylie Kachinski had a
record performance for the Setters. In the 400-meter dash, she took
22nd place out of 34 runners to set a school record time
of 1:07.28. Kachinski finished seventh in the triple jump with a
distance of 8.73 meters and leaped a height of 1.30 meters in the
high jump, attaining eighth place, both setting school records.
