NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE NAMES 2007 MEN'S & WOMEN'S
TRACK & FIELD ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS
WALLACE AND YOUNG NAMED TO FIRST TEAM

SOUTH EASTON, MA - The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2007 Men's and  Women's Track & Field All-Academic Team. To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete  must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's  competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on  a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors .

Pace University senior Ashley Wallace (Oswego, NY/Oswego) (3.97 GPA/Secondary Education) and junior Erica Young (Brooklyn, NY/West Plains) (3.72 GPA/Management) were both named to the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Track and Field All-Academic First Team.

This season, Wallace posted four top-three finishes in the shot put event. At the Wagner College Invitational, she finished third in the shot put with a distance of 36'5" - 11.11 meters. At the Bryant University Invitational, Wallace finished in 2nd place with a throw of 37'10.50" - 11.54 meters. At the J. Elmer Swanson Track & Field Invitational hosted by Wesleyan University she threw a 34'11-3/4" - 10.66m in the shot put, good for third place and at the Silfen Track & Field Invitational hosted by Connecticut College, Wallace once again finished third in the shot put with a toss of 10.87m - 35-08.00. Wallace holds school records in the shot put, as well as the discus and 100-meter dash.

Young set a new Pace record this season in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:20.07, which was good for ninth place, at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships held in Lowell, MA. It was Young's third top-10 finish of the year in the 5,000-meter run as she finished fourth at the Silfen Track & Field Invitational with a time of 20:43.39 and sixth at the J. Elmer Swanson Track & Field Invitational running a 20:49.25.
