VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS BRIDGEPORT 3-1
PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The Pace University women's volleyball team continued their solid early season play as the Setter battled back from dropping the first game to win the next three and win their second consecutive match against the University of Bridgeport. The Setters fell in the first game 24-30, but took home the victory by winning the next three 30-25, 30-27, and 30-27 to move above the .500 mark to 2-1 overall . The Purple Knights drop to 7-5.
Freshman Sianna Johnson (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Polytechnic) led the Setters with an all-around game, posting a team-high 15 kills, while totaling a solo block and six block assists. Rebecca DePaoli (Brewster, NY/North Salem) and Danielle Furka (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) tallied 14 kills to lead the Setters to its second victory of the season. Furka also chipped in a team-high 14 digs, while DePaoli added four block assists. Senior setter Ashley D'Agostini (San Diego, CA/Torrey Pines) totaled 45 assists, while posting 13 digs and three block assists.
Pace returns to action on Thursday, September 13th
when they host the Dowling College in a non-conference match at the
Goldstein Fitness Center for a 7:00 pm start time.
