VOLLEYBALL CRUISES TO 3-0 WIN OVER ASSUMPTION

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The Pace University women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over the Greyhounds of Assumption College in a Northeast-10 Conference match at the Goldstein Fitness Center this afternoon. The Setters took Game 1, 30-22, dominated in Game 2, 30-14, and closed out Game 3, winning 30-22 to take the victory. Pace improves to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play, while the Greyhounds drop to 6-2 and 2-1 in the NE-10.

Danielle Furka (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) led the Setters with 11 kills, while also posting 14 digs. Freshman Sianna Johnson (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Polytechnic) recorded 10 kills, a solo block and three block assists. Junior Korena Johnson (Friendswood, TX/Clear Brook) chipped in three kills, three digs, two solo blocks and assisted on two more blocks. Freshman libero Stephanie Kazmierczak (Buffalo, NY/City Honors) tallied a team-best 20 digs, along with three service aces. Classmate Jessica Anderson (East Northport, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) added 14 digs, seven assists and three aces on the day. Ashley D'Agostini (San Diego, CA/Torrey Pines) tallied a team-best 24 assists, while chipping in six kills and seven digs.

Pace returns to action when they host Queens College on Tuesday, September 18 in a non-conference match at the Goldstein Fitness Center for a 7:00 pm start time.
