SETTERS DEFEAT PIONEERS 3-1

BROOKVILLE, NY - The Pace University women's volleyball team defeated the Pioneers of Long Island University - C.W. Post three games to one in a non-conference match. The Setters took the first game 30-23, dropped game two 18-30, and came back to take game three and a nail biting game four by scores of 30-25 and 31-29, respectively. Pace improves to 6-3 on the season, while C.W. Post falls to an even 9-9 on the year.

The Setters were led by junior Korena Johnson (Friendswood, TX/Clear Book), who recorded a team-high 13 kills. Classmate Danielle Furka (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) and senior Rebecca DePaoli (Brewster, NY/North Salem) each chipped in with 12 kills apiece, while freshman Sianna Johnson (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Polytechnic) added nine kills. Furka also added 15 digs. Senior Ashley D'Agostini (San Diego, CA/Torrey Pines) set up the Pace attack posting a game-high 37 assists. Freshman Stephanie Kazmierczak (Buffalo, NY/City Honors) finished with a game-high 29 digs.

C.W. Post was led by Sarah Coufal's game-high 26 kills, to go along with a game-high four service aces and 12 digs. Jessica Lubeski chipped in with 12 kills and a team-high 23 digs. Aisha Sealy recorded 33 assists, while Sammy Figliolia and Alyssa Viglietta both finished with 18 digs.

Pace returns to action this Friday, September 28th when the Setters travel to Rindge, NH to take on Northeast-10 Conference foe Franklin Pierce University. Match is schedule to begin at 7:00 pm.
