VOLLEYBALL DROPS A PAIR OF MATCHES ON
THE
FINAL DAY OF THE DOWLING TOURNAMENT
OAKDALE, NY - The Pace University women's volleyball team fell to Millersville 3-1 (30-26, 23-30, 17-30, 22-30) and later in the afternoon lost to Dowling 3-0 (22-30, 18-30, 14-30). The Setters drop to 7-8 overall, while Millersville improves to 12-14 and Dowling goes to 20-7 on the season.
In the opening match against Millersville, Rebecca DePaoli (Brewster, NY/North Salem) led the Setters with 14 kills, while Danielle Furka (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) totaled nine kills and 17 digs. Sianna Johnson (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Polytechnic) posted nine kills, four service aces and four total blocks. Korena Johnson (Friendswood, TX/Clear Brook) chipped in six kills, six assists, six digs and four blocks. Jessica Anderson(East Northport, NY/Half Hollow Hills West) recorded a team-high 28 assists, while Stephanie Kazmierczak (Buffalo, NY/City Honors) posted a game-high 24 digs.
In the second match against Dowling, Sianna Johnson totaled a team-best six kills, while DePaoli added four kills. Anderson chipped in seven assists, while Korena Johnson led the team with four blocks.
Pace returns to action on Thursday, October 10th when
they will travel to Old Westbury, NY to take on the New York
Institute of Technology in a non-conference match for a 7:00 pm
start time.
