VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS UMASS-LOWELL, 3-1
LOWELL, MA - The Pace University women's volleyball team downed the River Hawks of the University of Massachusetts - Lowell in four games, 3-1, in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball action Friday night. After dropping the opening game 18-30, Pace would go on to win the next three games 30-26, 30-20 and 30-19 to take the match. The Setters improve to 12-13 on the season and 9-4 in the NE-10, while the River Hawks fall to 12-21 overall and an even 7-7 in conference play.
Junior Danielle Furka (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) led the Setters attack recording a game-high 15 kills, while classmate Korena Johnson (Friendswood, TX/Clear Book) recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. Senior Ashley D'Agostini (San Diego, CA/Torrey Pines) also posted a double-double setting up the Pace attack with a game-high 38 assists, to go along with a game-best 22 digs. Freshman Stephanie Kazmierczak (Buffalo, NY/City Honors) chipped in with 16 digs.
Leading the way for UMass-Lowell was Jillian Hadder who recorded
a team-high 12 kills. Elsa LeGrand chipped in with 11 kills, while
Nicole Rondeau finished the game with a team-best 26 assists. Allie
Eide and Kristina Martell each chipped in with 13 digs.
